my childhood crushes

I’ve had some peculiar celebrity – and non-celebrity – crushes over the years. I thought it might be funny to share the celebrity ones with you in a quick-but-cringy post.

Rupert Grint: My longest-standing crush since the first Harry Potter film in 2001, but mostly since the fifth film in 2007.

Khleo Thomas: I really fancied him in Holes when I was 9 in 2003. He’s kinda weird-looking now.

Ed Petrie: He was a presenter on CBBC in 2007, I was 11 or 12. Do I need to say more?

(I just had to google him for his picture and saw that he’s now married. My heart broke a tiny bit)

Iain Stirling: Iain was Ed’s replacement in 2009 and so he filled his shoes in more than one sense. I was too old for CBBC but I watched for the eye-candy.

Lloyd Daniels: Before he came out as gay, I fancied him on X Factor in 2009.

Not that you can’t harmlessly fancy someone who isn’t the same sexuality as you, but it just makes it a lot easier to believe your fantasies about your wedding and children and things if they are!

Luke Pasqualino: I don’t know ANYONE who didn’t fancy Freddie from Skins in 2009/10.

I mean, look at him. Damn, son!

Tom Felton: Draco grew on me and I started crushing in 2007 but really started fangirling in 2011.

He’s arguably my biggest celebrity crush. He’s so handsome now. SO HANDSOME. And I think all girls secretly like a bad boy. Not that he’s a dickhead in real life; he actually seems quite sweet. That’s fine too. I still would have married him (soz Chris).

I’m certain that there are PLENTY more that I’ve forgotten or deliberately missed out because they were too embarrassing. Who were your childhood crushes?  Let me know in the comments…
