My skin is not that bad, generally. I’ve never had acne, thankfully, so I don’t have lots of breakouts or acne scars to cover up, and I usually have pretty ‘normal’ type skin.
However recently I’ve started to notice that my cheeks and noise get quite oily and I’ve been getting a few more random spots. This is probably because I’ve started to wear a full face of makeup a lot more, so I decided I needed to create a proper skincare routine!
This post is also on my youtube channel! It’s also a get-ready-with-me kinda video as well. Click here to visit me :3
In the shower I use the T-Zone Deep Pore Cleansing Cream Wash, which is meant to unclog your pores without drying out your face. This is great for me because my forehead tends to dry up in the cold months. It’s also meant to remove makeup as well, so if you forget to take it all off before a shower, you’re covered.
Even if all of my makeup is removed, I use Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water to cleanse. This stuff is magic. It’s also a good brush cleaner, which I found out last month. I just drop some onto a cotton pad and wipe all over my face.
Next, I use Toner. This White Perfect Toner by L’Oreal is also a moisturiser apparently, but it’s just a liquid so I’m not sure if I believe it. It evens out your skin tone and brightens, which is great because my skin goes quite dull (especially in winter). Like with the Cleansing Water, I drop some on a cotton pad and wipe all over.
I use this Revitalift anti-aging moisturiser by L’Oreal a couple of times a week. It makes my eyes stream if I get it too close to them, which is a little worrying (and annoying, considering my wrinkles are by my eyes) and I feel a bit oily after I use it, even though it’s supposed to be non-greasy.
Lastly, I use Olay’s Double Action Primer/Moisturiser. It works pretty well as a moisturiser but not that great as a primer, but my skin does feel nice after I use it and it makes me feel like I’m protecting my skin from all that makeup.
As before, I go in with my Micellar Water to remove my makeup and White Perfect Toner afterwards to give my skin a bit of a boost. I tend to go through 3 cotton pads for this!
Every Friday is ‘Face mask Friday’, so I use a peel-off facemask or under-eye gel masks like these ones by Pretty.
After a face mask (or after toner if it’s not Friday) I use a night cream by Olay. I wake up with soft skin and I think it’s made a lot of difference since using it.
Pretty simple (ish), right? I’m looking for a new Primer if anyone has cheap recommendations!
