January welcomed a new subscription box (actually, my first ever subscription box) and of course I decided to turn it into a new series on both youtube and the blog. Who doesn’t love an unboxing? Check out the video below (or scroll on for pics) and don’t forget to subscribe!
With the #LFBeautyBox is a complementary copy of Elle Magazine which is a little added extra I wasn’t expecting. You also get a mini magazine about the products in your Beauty Box, which also has some info about other products on the LookFantastic website as well. It’s nice to get a mini mag rather than just a postcard.
The products come in a nicely-sized box, protected with tissue paper and ‘worms’. You get six items, which is a nice amount for the price – prices range from £13-15 a month with free shipping depending on how many months you get it for. I’ll include a money off code at the bottom of the post as well as links. Let’s look a bit closer at each product!
First is a pair of fancy slanted tweezers from The Vintage Cosmetics Company. They’re rose gold (yay) and quite big and my old tweezers are a bit naff now, so they were a great thing to get! These retail at £8.
Next I got the Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask which is a hair mask you leave in for a few minutes. This is a 29ml sample but at full-size (236ml) it would cost £30. It’ll probably last me two washes but this is greatly received because my hair is so dry and gross at the moment and I’m always looking for new hair products.
I got the Nuxe Lotion Tonique Douce (Gentle Toning Lotion) next which would cost £14 for 200ml usually, but I got 35ml. I’ve actually incorporated this into my daily skincare routine and it’s a really nice product. I think I might actually buy the full-size product when I run out!
A lot of people were excited to get the Pixi Brow Tamer! This is full-size and would usually cost £12, which is quite pricey for a brow gel! I’ve used this a few times but I’m not super impressed with it, just quite neutral about it. The spooly is so big so it’s quite difficult to use on my brows.
A mascara next, this is the Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara. This is obviously full-size and retails for just under £18 and claims to curl and lengthen your lashes. It’s also free of any chemical nasties and is hypoallergenic, so good for those with sensitive eyes! I’ve used this and it’s not the best mascara in the world but it’s good for a more natural look.
Lastly is the Trifle Cosmetics Liquid Glow, which is a liquid highlighter. It’s so pretty! It’s rosy-hued and it makes you look lit from within rather than a smear of pink on your face! You only need the tiniest amount so it will last a long time. This is full-size and retails at almost £16.
Overall I’m super impressed with everything I got this month! With the prices for sample products scaled down, the box is worth £60, which is 4x the amount you’d pay (maximum) per month. I’ve subscribed for a year, so it costs £13 per month, but a one-off box is £15.
If you want to subscribe to LookFantastic for any amount of time, you can do so HERE. You can also get some money off your subscription if you use my referral code, which is HELEN-R5E.
I hope you enjoyed today’s unboxing! I will continue to do it every month for a year at least so expect to see more unboxings in the future.
