Makeup Obsession Custom Palette Review

When I say I’ve had these for ages, I mean it. Ages. Since mid-December. I’ve had so many things to review and so they’ve taken a backseat for a couple of months, and I haven’t even used them as I was waiting to write this review! I got these lovelies from Boots (*you can create your own custom palettes if you click here)

The premise is with this product is that you buy the empty palettes (there’s a few colours to choose from, and you can get 6 or 12 pan palettes) and then fill them up with the shadows, blushes, contour/bronzers or highlights of your choice. I decided to get two 6-pan palettes: one for my face and one for my eyes! Each eyeshadow pan costs £2 and the ‘face’ products are £3 each.

‘mink’ and ‘taupe’ are actually eyeshadows but the contour shades seemed too warm for my skin!

I’m quite happy with my selections. I don’t think Mink is that great as a contour colour but taupe seems to be perfect, albeit not very pigmented which made it quite difficult to use. Honey is also quite orange and shimmery which I don’t tend to look for in a blush. In the eyeshadow palette, I wish I had got a darker brown instead of Ginger because it is fairly similar to Bone and Chocolate Cream.

The eyeshadows and blushes are very soft and pigmented and the highlights are pretty intense! I chose a blinding one (Moon) and a more everyday one.

TAMBeauty now stocks Makeup Obsession and they’ve brought out a few more shades and some lip products, so I’ll be purchasing some more at some point! I’d like to get one more highlight and blush and contour colour, a new eyeshadow palette and also some of the new lip pans.

Here’s the look I created and how I did it!

I used Taupe as a contour colour, Fancy as blush, Moon as my cheekbone highlight and Bare on my nose/cupids bow. For my eyeshadow I used every single shade, first starting with Bone all over, Ginger and Chocolate Cream in the crease, Burnt on the outer corner, Cosmo on the lid and Champagne in my inner corners.

What did you think of the colours (and that highlight?!?!)? I really loved the premise and the products; everything turned out awesome! Remember, you can create your own palettes too, just click here! This will be up as a video on YouTube tomorrow, so make sure to subscribe to see that!
