Monthly Catch-up // March 2017

It’s been an interesting month, to say the least! I like these little catch-up posts as I can just write whatever I want and not worry about getting photos and making a pinterest pin for it as well. Let me know if you would rather not see these posts on my blog or if you enjoy them!

First up, I am very nearly at 700 YouTube subscribers at the time of writing! How crazy is that?! I can’t believe how quickly my channel is growing and I’m so grateful for that. My blog is going well as well; I have very nearly 600 followers. I’m planning on upgrading WordPress so I become ‘hollifeblog.com’ in the summer! You may have seen my giveaway – you have until the 31st March at 11.59pm (UK time) to enter if you want to win some goodies!  You can enter here, or view the prizes here! I also got some softboxes this month, so my lighting has improved drastically. I just need to get my background nice and pretty and I’ll be happy (for now)!

I did a YouTube video about this, but I’ve started on a new diet and exercise regime to try in order to try and lose weight. I have lots of issues with my weight – my metabolism is slow and my hormones are out of whack which means I REALLY struggle to lose weight no matter what I do, but I’m counting calories, I’ve cut out soooo much sugar and carbs and I’m exercising six times a week. I’m also drinking at least 2 litres of water a day. I haven’t lost weight yet, but I still have hope I’ll lose a little bit.

We’ve booked our honeymoon! Finally, after over a year, we’re going on a honeymoon to Cyprus. We’re going in May, so I will be taking a couple of days off from blogging and youtube, but I’ll update you all with a schedule closer to the time! I’m really excited and I already have so many blog post and youtube video ideas about it.

We adopted a Capy Bura! It was our wedding anniversary on the 27th February and my parents adopted a Capy Bura at Chester Zoo in our name, which was so cool. We went to the zoo to have a look at our furry baby, which you can see in a vlog about it here.

My younger corn snake, Hazel, got a new home this month! She was finally ready to move up to her forever home, a 4-foot vivarium. She is settled in there nicely and is exploring all the time, which is so cute to see. She’s the most gorgeous snake (along with her brother of course) and it makes my heart happy to see her enjoying her new house, which has so much room for her to stretch out. She’s also on a bigger mouse each week now too, so she should be growing a bit fatter soon! The vlog that is going up in a couple of days on my YouTube channel has a timelapse of us building her viv and a bit of a cuddle with the snakes, so make sure you’re subscribed if you want to see that!

That’s about it for a life update this month! It feels like this month has been more eventful than the last couple of months! I’m really looking forward to Spring weather (at the moment it’s still freezing in northern England!) and losing some weight. How was your March?
