It’s about a quarter of the way through 2017 already – I know, time flies – and so I thought I’d update you on how I’m doing with my year goals. If you remember as far back as the beginning of January, I made a 2017 Resolutions post (which you can read if you want); here’s how I’m getting on.
My first goal was to lose weight. As you may or may not know, I’ve recently started on a diet and exercise regime (which you can learn about here) and I’m currently 5lbs down and 2 inches down on my waist and hips. It’s not much, but I’m getting there after three weeks! I’ve started drinking a lot more water and eating really healthily so my body feels better than it did.
My next goal was to get outside more. Obviously it’s a bit difficult in the winter (especially up north, brr) but now it’s springtime I’m walking to the local shopping centre each week, going to the gym (which I have to leave the house for, so it counts, right?) and I want to go for a walk each Sunday when it gets less muddy underfoot.
A big goal was to work harder. I’ve definitely increased my workload for YouTube by posting four videos a week in 2017 rather than three. I’ve recently been focused on making each video really high quality which takes a lot of time to film and edit, obviously. I’ve also created an instagram theme and a facebook post schedule. I’m still a bit of a procrastinator but I’ve definitely improved.
Lastly was maintaining a sleep schedule. I never thought in a million years I’d be able to say this, but… I have one! I’m actually sleeping at around midnight each night (we go to bed between 11-11.30pm each weeknight) and setting an alarm for 9am each morning and getting up, dressed and downstairs before 10am. This won’t be early for some, but as I work from home it’s a good time to start the day, as I’ve had a full 9 hours sleep and I’m not knackered each day. Being more active in the day definitely helps with falling asleep.
In terms of my subscribers and follower goals, I’m currently on 800 or so youtube subscribers and just over 600 wordpress followers and my goals were 1500 and 1000 respectively, so I’m getting there and I think I can achieve my goals by the end of the year. Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far! How are you doing with your goals?
