Makeup Obsession Custom Palette Review #2

You may remember my review of Makeup Obsession (if not, you can read it here), but I’ve since got lots of new pans and even a new palette, so I thought I’d review them again and show you the new bits I’ve got!

links are affiliated but opinions are 100% my own!

Creating a custom palette (or three) means that you can make sure you want to use every colour in a palette rather than just a select few. Makeup Obsession definitely found a gap in the market for creating custom palettes (that aren’t just eyeshadows) for drugstore prices and I applaud them for creating a brand so unique and exciting! The pans retail for £2-3 each and the empty palettes for £4-8. You can get them from Boots (in-store and online) and TAMBeauty, which ships worldwide.

First let’s start with the face palettes. I have 4 blushes: Honey, Bloom, Bronze and Fancy. I wanted to use Bronze as a bronzer, but it’s too warm for my skin! I then have two contour shades – Light and Taupe, which is actually an eyeshadow. I find them all really pigmented and the blend out nicely!

This is my highlight palette; my pride and joy! I have Moon, Pop, Pearl, Bare and Euphoria, which is a strobe balm. The highlights are honestly all amazing and blinding. I do have a spare of Moon too because it’s my favourite but I’m taking it travelling, which is why there’s a gap in the palette.

Now onto the eyeshadows. I got this gorgeous rose gold palette to store them in which has a HUGE mirror. It would be perfect for travelling if the pans didn’t pop out so easily! I’m in love with the colours I chose for this palette!

row one l-r: Bone, Mink, Copper, Chocolate Cream, Champagne, Scene

row two l-r: Cosmo, Bullet, Ginger, Burnt, Royal, Emerald Fizz

For this eye look I used Mink all over the lid, Ginger as transition, Burnt in the crease, Bullet in the outer corner, Champagne on the lid and browbone and Royal on the lower lashline. I also used the highlight ‘Moon’ on my inner corners.

On my face I have the Light contour shade, Pearl highlight and Fancy blush.

I find the shadows really easy to blend out but they do apply slightly sheerer than they swatch, so they require some building up. They’re easy to apply and I’m so happy with how my palette looks!

The blushes are really pigmented and are quite hard to look natural – it’s difficult to diffuse if you use a lot at once. The contour is a good colour for my skin and fairly easy to blend, and finally the highlights are all gorgeously blinding and I would recommend them to anyone.

Remember you can pick up Makeup Obsession from Boots or TAMBeauty! What do you think of the concept and shade selection in my palettes? I’ll be doing a video review on YouTube soon so make sure you’re subscribed if you want to see that! You can visit me at youtube.com/hollife.
