CHARISMATIC CAT CANDLE REVIEW

A good candle is always a blogger favourite, so that’s why I was delighted to receive this handmade soy wax scented candle from Charismatic Cat Candles to try and review. As both myself and my husband are frequent candle burners, we teamed up to form an opinion for this review.

Products have been sent as PR for review, but all opinions are my own and this post is not sponsored. Please contact me on xhollife@gmail.com for PR or any questions.

The candle sits in a rustic-looking silver tin complete with label that specifies the scent and information and a lid. Despite the cutesy vibe, the packaging seems minimal – in a good way – and would fit with a variety of interiors without getting lost amongst the decor. The tin can easily be reused once the candle has finished; I think I might use mine for earrings. You get 100g of product for just £4.75, which is an absolute bargain, especially if you compare it to arguably the most popular scented candles: Yankee Candle. A 100g Yankee Candle costs £9, so you’re saving almost half the cost with a candle from Charamastic Cat. I much prefer the tin packaging to the bulky glass jars, too.

The candles currently come in all these scents, with more in development (marshmallow, anyone?), but I received the scent Fresh Mint. As I opened the bubble-wrapped package it came in, I was immediately hit with the scent and opening the tin doubled that! It wasn’t overpowering at all, but it was definitely very scented. I prefer a strong scent, as you can smell it throughout the house and it tends to last longer. The scent Fresh Mint reminds me of fresh laundry with a fistful of newly-picked mint leaves.

I burned the candle for three hours at first and was happy to see that it burned completely evenly and only used about 0.4cm of candle. It burns evenly because soy wax has a lower melting point and so the whole surface melts together, rather than just the immediate area around the wick. I’ve currently been burning the candle for 7 hours and it’s melted about 1cm in total, so it definitely lasts a while. It will be a shame when it runs out!

If you’re a candle fan and like a nice, strong scent, then I highly recommend trying them!
